Choose our challenging follow-up to the Savvy Ed courses, which introduces 11 to 14-year-old students to natural English, helps them develop high levels of proficiency in all language skills and prepares them for Cambridge examinations.
If you are interested in the Edward’s League licence, then you are probably already a partner of ours and are familiar with the Teddy Eddie and Savvy Ed methods. By introducing Edward’s League courses in your school, you will gain a unique solution for advanced language learners aged 11-14 which will set you apart from the competition.
Students have an extensive vocabulary and a good command of grammar. They are also capable of setting their own learning goals.
The method gives teachers a deeper insight into the development and psychology of students and ways of building intrinsic motivation.
Combining a course for primary school students with the opportunity to take Cambridge examinations will make your school stand out in the market.
With a full Edu Bears licensing package, you can provide your customers with an effective, challenging and complete educational pathway.
Edward’s League is the last method in our challenging learning pathway for 2 to 14-year-olds. It takes students to language proficiency level B1+, and in some cases even B2, and prepares them for success in international examinations.
Implementing it will give you an ambitious 12-year teaching programme for children and teenagers, combined with the Teddy Eddie and Savvy Ed licences you already have. This will help you retain your existing customers and gain new ones, as you will be able to offer language education to their children for many years to come.
Edward’s League features solutions that have already been tried and tested in our previous methods, Teddy Eddie and Savvy Ed. The method was developed by Ola Komada and Diana Kubica – our dedicated duo of mums and methodology experts.
It includes generous Education Packs for students, clearly structured coursebooks, and system-based tasks that facilitate systematic, organised learning, along with a carefully designed teacher-parent communication system and a complete set of resources for teachers and schools to help them maintain the standard of the method everywhere that Edward’s League courses are taught.

Unfortunately not. A licence to run Edward’s League courses can only be purchased by a school that has worked with us using the Teddy Eddie and Savvy Ed methods, because Edward’s League was created as a challenging follow-up for children who have completed the Savvy Ed course.
Unfortunately not. We start every business partnership with the Teddy Eddie method. This allows us to evaluate and get to know each other first. An Edward’s League licence can only be purchased once your students have completed levels 1 and 2 and reached level 3 of the Savvy Ed method.
Please refer to the Edward’s League licence price list.
The Edward’s League licence is available for schools that use both the Teddy Eddie and Savvy Ed methods and are teaching students at Savvy Ed level 3. Based on our experience, we believe that if the courses are scheduled to begin in September, the optimal time to sign the licence agreement is between January and March. By planning ahead, it is possible to confidently prepare the entire school for the implementation of the new method. This includes introducing the method to the owner or manager, training teachers, building effective communication with parents and young learners, and placing students in appropriate groups ‒ all in a timely manner.
An Edward’s League method licence can be purchased by a school where at least one of the teachers has been certified as a Edward’s League Method Coordinator. Edward’s League is a course for students with advanced language skills and we require the school to have someone with a good understanding of our methods.
We also recommend that Edward’s League courses are taught by teachers who have previous experience of working with the Savvy Ed method or with 11 to 14-year-old students. They will feel more at home in the world of Edward’s League and will find it easier to teach.
Yes. The Edward’s League course is the culmination of an ambitious Edu Bears learning pathway and requires a comprehensive assessment of language skills. It has been designed as a natural – but highly demanding – follow-up to the Savvy Ed course. This is why students who have not previously learnt English using the Savvy Ed method should be offered an alternative course adapted to their language level.
To qualify students for Edward’s League courses, we test their language skills against clearly defined criteria using a dedicated qualification tool. We want our students to be able to enjoy the course and to develop their language skills to the fullest, and the only way to ensure this is to place them in the appropriate group.
Yes, provided that the child meets the Edward’s League qualification criteria. However, we do not recommend advertising Edward’s League courses to new students. These will be extremely rare cases, as the Edward’s League course is very challenging and may simply be too difficult. Of course, students who have previously taken a Savvy Ed course and passed all the required tests do not need to worry.
Yes. The Edward’s League course prepares learners for the Cambridge examinations, and we strongly recommend that you encourage students to take these exams as it raises the profile of the course and the school as an examination preparation centre. Combining Edu Bears’ challenging courses with Cambridge exams can be a unique feature of your school’s offer.
Of course you can! If you are interested in purchasing and introducing the Edward’s League method in your school, we would be delighted to provide you with our demo materials. Please contact the Edu Bears Sales Team for more information.
Yes. As with Teddy Eddie and Savvy Ed, teachers who are new to the Edward’s League method must complete teacher training in the form of hands-on workshops. These live workshops are usually organised in selected towns and cities.
Each Edward’s League student receives access to our Homework Site educational app. This is where students prepare for classes and do their homework online. It is the responsibility of school owners, managers and teachers to ensure that parents understand that the Homework Site is an essential part of the language course. It is only by attending classes and using the app that students are able to achieve superior outcomes both at school and in their Cambridge examinations.
Edward’s League classes last 60 minutes each and are held twice a week. Private primary schools have the option of adopting a schedule tailored to their needs, for example by spreading the material into five lesson units per week (45 minutes each).
The specific frequency of classes and the carefully planned distribution of material help students to successfully complete the challenging programme.
We do not recommend opening Edward’s League 2 and 3 groups in the first year of working with the method. However, if a new student comes to your school, for example after living abroad, you can add them to an existing Edward’s League 2 or 3 group, provided that they have successfully passed the placement test.
